
Two high-ranking police officers in the Mexican State of Michoacán have been carrying out raids on behalf of the terrorist organization United Cartels. One of those officers had been investigated for his cartel ties but is now back on the job, carrying out raids and alleged abductions with complete impunity.

Ovidio Guzmán López pleaded guilty to four U.S. federal charges last week during a hearing held in the Northern District of Illinois. At 35 years old, El Chapo Guzmán’s son accepted the charges for operating a continuous criminal organization and conspiring to traffic drugs, including fentanyl, and arms trafficking.

A cell of gunmen believed to be tied either to Cartel Jalisco New Generation or Carteles Unidos has been trying to set up their operation in the border city of Piedras Negras, Coahuila, just south of Eagle Pass. By the time authorities got wind of the operation, the cartel members had already been setting up stash houses, a network of lookouts, and even weapons caches.
